I Guess I'm Not Very Good At This Blogging Thing!

It has been months and months without a post!  I'm not sure if I'm too busy or too lazy but honestly it's probably a little bit of both.  This is a little bit of what I have been up to in 2013.

This is the second time I was lucky enough to make the cover of Cake Central Magazine.  I had some really great people to work with including Barnett PhotographyClassic Creations Floral Design and Vintage Origami.

This cake was for a tutorial I did for Cake Central.  You can find the link to the hand painting here and a link to making the gumpaste Ranunculus flower here.

This nautical themed cake was for Jillian Harris, she threw a wonderful first birthday party for her nephew Charlie.

The Dr. Seuss cake was for my son's 6th birthday party.

This moustache cake is what I made for my husband's annual Movember party.

This 70's themed cake was for my good friend Jen's 40th birthday!

This sweet smash cake was done for a beautiful session for a little girl's first birthday.  To see more photos from other sessions like this check out Barnett Photography's Blog.

My Feature in Cake Central Magazine

I finally get to share my secret project!  As I was headed to bed one night in July I checked my email, to my surprise I had been asked by Cake Central Magazine to submit photos of a grey and cream cake with a less is more theme.  I jumped at the opportunity!  I was given some inspirational photos to work from and this is the end result.  I was lucky enough to have Barnett Photography of Kelowna, BC take these wonderful photos of my cake.  They did a brilliant job of capturing the simple, classic look that I was going for.  I didn't know until today that we would be featured on the cover as well, it was a fantastic surprise.  To see my feature and the other photos of the cake you can download a copy of the magazine here.  In a few weeks I will be able to show you many more pictures myself :)

A huge thank you to Josh and Carly Barnett and to Christina of Classic Creations Floral Design for the beautiful bouquet.    I highly recommend both these businesses especially if you are planning a wedding in the Okanagan.
